Dec 22, 2014– There’s nothing in the first-floor lobby of a North Vancouver office building to indicate that it’s home to a foundation that hands out millions of dollars annually. Take the elevator to the fourth floor, and a sign on the wall identifies the modest suite of offices there as home to the Djavad Mowafaghian Foundation. The foundation’s namesake is a jovial 87-year-old who parlayed a huge construction business in Iran into a Canadian philanthropic legacy that will continue after he is gone.
